Modernising a franchise presence for a local market
ABCO Chem-Dry Gold Coast operates under a well-known national franchise.
That meant branding already existed - a logo, corporate guidelines, product imagery. But what they didn’t have was a cohesive, modern digital presence tailored to their local audience. The new franchise owners wanted their website to feel modern, approachable, clean, and relevant to the Gold Coast market.
So, the challenge to me wasn’t to reinvent the brand. It was to elevate it - without breaking franchise alignment.

Within franchise guidelines
Franchise businesses often sit in an in-between space.
There’s a logo and there are brand colours.
But the visual system isn’t always fully developed for digital use.
Using the existing Chem-Dry logo as the anchor, I built out:
A refined website colour palette aligned with the brand
Web-friendly typography for consistency and readability
A curated selection of updated stock imagery
Visual guidelines to modernise the overall feel
The existing product imagery felt dated and disconnected from the quality of service the new owners were offering. To bridge that gap, I referred the client to a local photographer who created updated brand and product imagery - ensuring the website felt current, trustworthy, and locally grounded.
The result was a brand presence that felt fresh - without stepping outside franchise boundaries.

For the website, we worked within the content and structural guidelines provided by the franchise. But guidelines don’t dictate layout, so we ensured that the site:
Followed franchise messaging requirements but feflected the priorities of the new owners
Spoke directly to the Gold Coast audience
Felt modern and easy to navigate
The layout was redesigned to feel clean and intuitive - moving away from dated, text-heavy structures toward clearer sectioning, stronger hierarchy, and improved mobile usability.
